SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) is essentially DRAM that has a synchronous interface. As opposed to standard DRAM (which has an asynchronous interface, and responds as quickly as possible to input changes), SDRAM waits for the clock signal and is therefore synchronized to the system bus.
SDRAM is still manufactured today, although as of 2007 it is no longer being installed in new computers coming off the assembly line.
